FYI: umsdos panic in 2.0.7 (yes!)

When deleting some files to make more space I triggered the following
panic (copied from eye to finger):

Filesystem panic (dev 03:01, mounted on 03:03:4049)
fat_free: deleting beyond EOF
File system has been set read-only

One good and stupid question is: How can I recover from that? I
rebooted, but I'm afraid trying deleting again will trigger the same
panic...
