FYI: mount a swap partition

For those interested: By mistake I once mounted a swap partition
(that had partition type ext2, if that matters) without specifying a
filesystem type. The mount never returned, and the system was unable
to do anything while the disk still worked from time to time.

Unfortunately I have no syslog here, but there was something about
"blocksize not implemented", and the kernel was a 2.0.2x.

What I really wanted to say is: Can the mount system call maybe check
for a swap signature and refuse mounting?
