kerneld messages

Hi all. I'm struggling with ftape-3.03a, and thought it might be related
to kerneld in some way. This is 2.0.30-pre1, modutils-2.1.34.

It seems the number just increments slightly as it continues...

There aren't any specific errors when it prints out the status of the
tape.

Is this something I should be concerned about?
