2.1.39 can build itself under X provided only that essentially nothing
else is going on. If I have the audacity to use netscape or mail, the
build hangs usually with a disk sleep (ps status of "SD"). I can never
get more that five runs of Bonnie, it always eventually kills any of
2.1.37 and later. Usually the system is hung and refuses to respond to
anything but a hard reset or power-off/on. The only concrete message I
have gotten thus far from /var/adm/syslog is:

May 19 18:48:11 tarantula kernel: scsi : aborting command due to \
timeout: pid 219153, scsi3, channel 0, id 1, lun 0 Write (6) 09 2d \
fb 08 00
May 19 18:48:11 tarantula kernel: aic7xxx: (abort) Aborting scb 2, \
TCL 1/0/0

At about the same time in /var/adm/messages:

May 19 18:25:58 tarantula modprobe: can't locate module block-major-3
May 19 18:26:01 tarantula last message repeated 13 times

Never get any oops though.
