Interactive Speed better in 2.1.37+ (subjective)?

I see a dramatic but totally subjective improvement in the responsiveness
of my 486/66 at work for both local and remote sessions I am typing in (e.g
telnet, ssh, xterms, etc) in 2.1.37 vs. 2.1.36. Is there any good reason
for this? Does anyone else notice a change? I don't recall 2.1.36 being
any slower than normal, and Unixbench on Pentia at home shows 2.1.37 as
being a little faster but nothing as dramatic as how it feels on this 486.
