I have a parallel port zip drive, and (accidentally) left an msdos partition
mounted last night. This morning, when updatedb ran from crond, all hell
broke loose. Here an exerpt from syslog:

with about 200 more lines of those last 2 error message, moving sequentially in
sectors up to sector 416. The messages starting at 7:47:16 happened when I
killed all the processes related to updatedb. At this point, the drive had
become unlocked, and I ejected the disk, then realized it was still mounted,
re-inserted it and did a umount.

System is a Cx486DX4/100 w/ a dumb parallel port, and all scsi/parallel
port stuff compiled as modules (no kerneld or anything fancy, though)
