TTY crashed... something more

Hallo everyone,
here is some more infos about 'tty crashed':

The crashed tty is tty1...

This is what appears on the screen:

This is genius.cdc.unict.it (Linux i486 2.0.29). Local time is 20:33:24.
0 users are on the system. You logging in from tty1 at 38400 baud.

genius login: sl0: transmit timed out, bad line quality?

I can't write or read something on tty1. If i write on another console
echo "test" >/dev/tty1, nothing happens and the console where i wrote it
does not accept any other characters...
