Know, know, I annoyed you reporting my problems.
Seems, that this is the last quick-revealing problem, I found.

Kernel : 2.1.36
SoundCard : ESS1688
Problem : Volume control change without any actions.

I have small program, called setvol, that can set master volume on audio
device. Some sounds play ok. But somewhen suddenly it goes to the high limit
and there requered to reset volume. Have to say, my card is loud enough and
I was really shocked ( my headphone too ). Again, 2.0.18 was ok. What can
you say ? How can I set audio volume permanently ?
