wu.ftpd caused an oops?!?!?!

Attached to this message is a portion of my syslog file showing a kernel
oops that I experienced earlier today. Someone else was ftp'ing to this
machine and they weren't even transfering any files, according to the
logs. They were just changing through directories and looking at things.
I know the guy who did it and I am sure this is not some hack attempt.
(Besides, the ftp client was win95)

Anyway, I am running a slightly modded kernel 2.0.28. The only mods are
that I put in loopback filesystem encryption about four months ago and I
had efs and hfs filesystem support loaded as kernel modules, which I put
in about two weeks ago. This is on a single processor intel pentium 100,
40 megs of physical ram, 96 megs of swap, 256k pipeline cache. My drives
are all fast-scsi, attached to an adaptec 2940. I installed this system
into a blank drive from a 2.0.0 slakware linux cd-rom and it has been
running for almost a year now. IE: There are no remnants of a pre-2.x.x
system and I don't think it's a blatant hardware problem. If anyone has
any ideas as far as what caused this or tests I can run to see if my
system really is stable I would appriceate it. I hope this was not just a
random 'hiccup' that I should ignore, because that would mean linux
stability is slowly going downwards... (I've run 1.2.x for years and
never had even seen an oops until I started running 2.0.0 a while back)

Ok, here's the relevant info from my syslog file:
