SMP <gone>

I was unable to keep my SMP machine "on-the-air" with the change you
advised. Therefore, I made a clean 2.1.36 tree and applied your 2.1.37
pre-patch. It applied cleanly and compiled okay.

This is the result of adding the pre-patch to my SMP machine.
