I know what happened...about 5-6 days ago, I decided to see how
my system would run if I made the Almquist shell (/bin/ash, 55k)
into my /bin/sh. After commenting out some bit in one of my rc
files, it worked fine for several days of heavy usage.
So, I (temporarily) changed it back to bash (380K), and the kernel
compiled w/o any problems.
Sorry 'bout that.
