Hi,

As many of you wondered, I do have the proc FS compiled into my
kernel and it was mounted and readable. I could cat /proc files during
the time of the syslog error messages. However, another interesting piece
of information that might be helpful, is that I am running quotas and one
of my users' mailboxes had exceeded their quota. These messages began at
about that time and continued until I rebooted. The messages went away
and have not reappeared since reboot, and the users' quota is no longer
full. I'll include the original log snippet.

Apr 8 08:00:21 earth kernel: Cannot read proc file system.
