PCI device problems

I'm sorry, there isn't a linux-pci; hope its ok to post here.

I would like to run redhat 3.0.3, kernel 1.3.57 for a while, to check
stablility with my hardware.

I am getting 'unknown pci device' and it is referring to the ide->pci
device. I seem to remember having this work properly during the 1.3
series, and my configuration. Could you tell me if it is possible to
obtain a patch to fix this problem? (Please don't say upgrade to 2.0).
