I've had the eepro module die on me several times during large
transfers (Ie: a 138 megabyte tar backup file). The only way to
'fix' the problem was to 'ifconfig eth1 down ; rmmod eepro; modprobe
eepro irq=x io=y'.
I ended up using NFS instead of FTP to tranfer the file. NFS was
apparently slow enough to not kill the card. I've now put this
card at the other end of a 64kbit line, instead of the local ethernet,
and got a 3c509 on the local part to prevent these problems in the
