I've seen this too, also on a system (P90) that's generally been quite
stable and existed for about 1.5 years. Each time, it's appeared mostly
harmless, and prompted me to upgrade to the most recent 2.0.x kernel.

It happened 7-7-96, 7-28-96 and 10-5-96. Each time in the message,

swap_free: swap-space map bad (entry 00000500)

it's been 00000200, 00000100, and then 00000500.
