Strange 2.1.11 bug

Hi i just installed kernel 2.1.11 (upgrading from a 2.0.25).
I have my user in the group audio, and the device /dev/audio and
/dev/dsp
set to rw-rw-- root audio, if i type id it says that i am in the group
audio but if i try to do for example a cat in >/dev/audio it says
permission
denied. Same thing with floppy device. It was working well with 2.0.25.
Any hint ?
