Ekkk! This patch didn't get in:

This fixes the problem with the watchdog hardware timer card
driver not getting linked into the kernel. This patch was provided to me
by Richard Henderson <>. I found the general problem (on a
tip from Jay Estabrook), that it wasn't getting linked, and Richard found
the specific reason why. Alan Cox had said that it would get in, but I
guess you (Linus) snuck it by him. Sneaky devil! ;-) I had intended to
send this patch out today anyway (just in case no one else did), but I was
hoping it would be before 2.0.24 was released. 2.0.25, anyone?
hehehehe.... Well, I'm intending to do a watchdog mini-howto, so if it
doesn't get into a new 2.0.X kernel, I'll put it in the howto.

William Paterson College children's game in which all of the contestants would get equally worthless prizes in the end.
