Your 'objdump' is broken (GNU objdump version 960228).
Either upgrade to a newer one or ( as a workaround) change this in
linux/arch/i386/Makefile:
-ENCAPS=$(CROSS_COMPILE)encaps
+ENCAPS=$(CROSS_COMPILE)do_not_use_encaps
This will force to use 'objcopy' and 'ld' instead.
