Hello,

After 3 days of uptime I suddenly had about 40 pages of these in my
syslog:

I also had a few kernel panics related to ext2-fs problems, but under the
circumstances I think this is only normal ;-) so I didn't include them
here.
I've got a pentium with a cmd640b controller with (experimental ?)
CONFIG_BLK_DEV_CMD640_ENHANCED=y turned on.

Now, what's the problem ? My cmd640b, my hard-disk or linux ? Personally
I think it's linux leaving my hard-disk in such a state it isn't usable
any more.
Because it wasn't usable any more: after having hit the reset-button the
computer wouldn't boot - no Linux from neither hd nor floppy, no DOS-95.
I had to physically turn off and on the computer in order to be able to
boot again.

Just in case it's useful, I run hdparm-3.1 with options -m32 -c1 on hda
and hdc and -Z on hda from rc.local, and I think I also ran -S 241 on both
drives (3 days ago...).
