I highly recommend the Buslogic BT-958. It's the Buslogic's Top of the
Line (the Adaptec version is nothing compared to this) is around $250
(PCI) in the US... while the Adaptec is about a hundred dollars more
expensive...
If you don't know it, the BT-958 can control up to 15 devices and it
supports Fast/Wide Scsi-II and Ultra-Scsi-III.
On the other hand, I suggest that you upgrade to Kernel v2.0.0
