Just compiled (and recompiled) Linux 2.0.19...all seems well, except
that I usually build whatever I can as modules, and depmod -a -e
reports some unresolved symbols:

darkstar:~# depmod -a -e
*** Unresolved symbols in module /lib/modules/2.0.19/block/floppy.o
up_wakeup
*** Unresolved symbols in module /lib/modules/2.0.19/block/rd.o
up_wakeup
*** Unresolved symbols in module /lib/modules/2.0.19/misc/serial.o
down_failed
up_wakeup
*** Unresolved symbols in module /lib/modules/2.0.19/scsi/sr_mod.o
down_failed
up_wakeup

----

Just to make sure, I deleted my linux source directory and replaced
it -- patching upto 2.0.19. recompiled. exact same errors.

At the moment, I'm running the serial driver from 2.0.18 (insmod -f)
