There is no reason why it should _not_ be readable. More, any user can
simulate /dev/zero by this one:
#include <unistd.h>
int main(int argc, char *argv[])
{
char b[1]={ 0 };
while (1) {
(void) write(1, &b, 1);
}
}
It's clearly the memory management that needs to be fixed.
