I would conjecture that you have bad libraries.
Probably not a kernel problem, so not for this list.
Probably not a mount problem either.
Anyway, this report is too vague to be of any use.
When there is a problem, give at least the kernel version,
and the version of the program (here mount), the command
given, and the error message. If "mount -t type dev dir" fails,
what about just "mount"?
