1.99.10 - Error: send_head NULL in xmit_timer

I'm getting lots of these from 1.99.10, AFAICT they happen when a machine
I have connected over a direct serial (PPP) link dies unexpectedly and
the route goes away. The sockets I have left to the remote machine are
all sat in the LAST_ACK state, although I believe they are timing out
eventually (haven't checked that bit too carefully tho').
