Are there any plans for implementing generic device statistic gathering
under Linux? It would be really useful to know exactly how busy a disk
(partion?) is, ie throughput, %busy, etc. This feature would really come
in handy for system administration and tuning. Something like this already
exists under AIX, where i can run "monitor" to display live system
statistics.
