Linux-1.3.88 - Net seems better, ftp problems

Okay, the interactive performance with Slowaris hosts seems better.

But... I have ftp related problems that I never had before:

I use ncftp to read a text file and hit "q", aborting the transfer:

Trying to connect to willis.cis.uab.edu...
Guest login ok, access restrictions apply.

ASCII Transfer complete.
'^2ABOR': command not understood.

I don't know where the extra character is coming from, I'm just
reporting it as I see it.
