Why on earth is something as critical as e2fsck dynamically linked, anyway?
The official e2fsprogs distribution that I put out does *not*
dynamically link e2fsck --- us old-timers tend to be real paranoid about
stuff like that. :-)
The problem is that I can't control what the distributions put out. I
suspect one of them forced e2fsck to be dynamically linked to safe a few
k of disk space.
