Bug report, APM bios

I just tried using the APM functions in the kernel, in the hopes of using the APM
bios to shut off the display. The XFree86SVGA X server appears to understand the
bios calls, as it turns the display on and off correctly; however, the console
driver gets confused. (Interestingly, moving the mouse with GPM running spews out
even more APM warnings.)

Computer: Hewlett Packard Vectra Xm-3, 5/90, on-board Cirrus 5434 video.
Kernel 1.3.73 CONFIG_APM=y
# CONFIG_APM_IGNORE_USER_SUSPEND is not set
# CONFIG_APM_DO_ENABLE is not set
CONFIG_APM_CPU_IDLE=y
CONFIG_APM_DISPLAY_BLANK=y
