Compiling 1.3.73SMP didn't work out of the box, but I assume that
the error in arch/i386/kernel/irq.c:185 was just an typo. After fixing this,
I compiled and booted the box. It hung after printing
VFS: mount root read only
This could be a 1.3.73SMP thing, or it could be caused by my INIT
(1.57b or so, it's the standard Slackware 3.0 one.)
