My root fs is in /dev/hda6?
But:
c509.c:1.03 10/8/94 becker@cesdis.gsfc.nasa.gov
Partition check:
hda: hda1 hda2 < hda5 hda6 hda7 hda8 hda9 >
VFS: Mounted root (ext2 filesystem) readonly.
(fsck failed)
martynt:~$ mount

/dev/hda1 on /dos/c type msdos (rw)
none on /proc type proc (rw)

I'm up and running -- I created /dev/hda10 to try somesomething...
martynt:/u/leisner# /sbin/fdisk -v
fdisk v2.0d (>2GB)
martynt:/u/leisner# uname -a
Linux martynt 1.3.71 #13 Thu Mar 7 11:42:40 EST 1996 i586
When I set it up to boot from /dev/hda6, it tried to mount an msdos
file system as root...
This is not the type of problem I necessarily want to investigate
(I accidently blew away another system wth mke2fs instead of e2fsck...
[Would it be useful to make mke2fs prompt for confirmation by default?
Several times [more than I care to recall] I accidently blew away
file systems...
