quando.linux-kernel: Sudden Death with mcdx in 1.3.69,70,71

Hello everybody,

since 1.3.69 the kernel locks up after some cd access on my
Mitsumi doublespeed (FX001D) connected to a soundblaster 16 MCD.
It seems to occur fast, after 10-40 accesses (list files, extract ..).
The kernel seems to lock up when data transfer starts, not while
head position. But the software watchdog is able to reboot the machine.
I also try the original mitsumi interface card, with interrupts 10, 11
and 3. Up to 1.3.68, I never had any problems with the mcdx-driver.
I also tried to use the old alpha-7-sound driver, and then the time of
death grows up to 1 or 2 hours, but i cannot really confirm that (I only
tried this 2 times).
With the new 1.7 mcdx the cd light flickers fast, when the kernel locks
up.
Using 1.3.68 with the same cds, there are no problems.
Any comments? Maybe people with the same problems or same config and no
problems?

Further infos: 486/DX-2, 32MB, VLB-EIDE, SB16MCD, Mitsumi FX001D,
XF3.1.2-SVGA

Any help is really welcome.

Holger
