The point is not what is the correct spelling: if "GNU-based Linux
system" or "Linux-based GNU system" as Richard already pointed out.
He just wants the Linux users to be aware that they are also GNU
users. By doing so, both camps will benefit. Someone already
suggested using LIGNUX, that's perfectly fine.

You don't use raw Gnu libc but the Linux libc is based on it. Linux
libc has been modified for our convenience (release times, taking
advantage of kernel features and so on), but the Linux libc is still
based on GNU libc.

Now, all the great code that H.J. Lu and the Linux volunteers have
written is going to be merged into GNU libc and we will all benefit.
Speaking of Linux ports: The libc programmers for the Alpha, the
Mips, the m68k, the i386 and the sparc ports are working with the FSF
and H.J. Lu to make GNU libc the Linux libc. We all win with this.
