I have a p5-100 with Triton chipset and EIDE WD 1.6 gig with 48mb swap file and 16 mb of RAM ...

The HDD keeps thrashing non-stop when I have the following loaded:

X-win
Netscape 2.0
Zircon 1.16
rxvt

free -ot reads 2.5k of free RAM and 6.8k of swap ... thrashing is non-stop ...
