I've installed the 1.3.69 kernel and syslogd is now failing, claiming
that it's unable to create /dev/log. Syslogd doesn't have a problem
when I boot my backup 1.3.25 or 1.3.37 kernels.
Also: I've tried several recent kernels and all come up with this message
right _before_ init boots:
"VFS: mounted root (ext2 filesystem) readonly"
...while this is easy to fix with a "mount -n -w -o remount" command,
what's the reason for mounting readonly in the first place?
Any suggestions for either of these (apparently kernel related) problems?
Thanks.
