You still run across the problem that the disks must be spun
up at boot time to read the partition table.
I would prefer that the numbers be configurable - probably
via /proc/scsi. I guess I would also prefer that the default be
for no spindown, and that this be something that be enabled by the
sysadmin. Originally I was thinking in terms of enabling this on
a target by target basis, but this gets too complicated.
Can someone point me at the existing broken patches that
were alluded to on sunsite? I would at least like to see if this is
a useful starting point.
