I had very similar problems under both a 3940 and a 1542. My fix for it
was to consolidate my data from my IDE drives to the larger SCSI disk and
eliminate the IDE disks from the loop completely. There was something
about the Triton IDE and the SCSI that just didn't mix. Not really sure
what it was. Anyways, everything is working really well now, and I like
10MB/s transfers instead of those silly old mode 0 and 1 drives anyways. :)
