1.3.66: TCP sockets stuck in CLOSE

1.3.66 has a few sockets stuck in CLOSE after mail deliveries:

tcp 1 54 129.13.110.66:25 18.72.1.2:4168 CLOSE root
tcp 1 54 129.13.110.66:25 18.72.1.2:4464 CLOSE root

Wether these connections timed out, or wether they were just very slow,
I don't know; it's mail delivery across the pond, so you never know...
The corresponding sendmail processes have long since died, and I can't
find any more net activity to that host.
