1.3.66 socket problems?

I must commend the fast fix for the earlier tcp problem. I couldn't even
download the kernel source from finland because it kept locking up. I'm
connected via ethernet, so I it was strange that it was effecting me but
it seems to be fixed in 1.3.66. Anyway, a new problem has arised that
I've never seen before. netstat reports a number of http connections
closed, but even after an hour or two, never releases the socket:

tcp 0 0 isr0954.urh.uiuc.:http J301856852.RESNET:1105 CLOSE
root
tcp 0 0 isr0954.urh.uiuc.:http J301856852.RESNET:1134 CLOSE
root
tcp 0 0 isr0954.urh.uiuc.:http sunnyuser023.ncw.:1149 CLOSE
root
tcp 0 0 isr0954.urh.uiuc.:http sunnyuser023.ncw.:1150 CLOSE
[Lot's more deleted]

I have an ne2000 compatible card and run kerneld if it matters. The
httpd is apache.
