I also have this problem, but I have a Cirrus Logic 5428 Card. A possibly
related problem is the console corruption that occurs when a lot of scrolling
takes place on a VT which is not the currently displayed one. This results
in a corrupt VT and possible memory corruption. eg libc. This seems to be
triggered when swapping is also occuring.
