how do I find out the configuration of a running kernel?

/proc/devices only tells me about what devices it finds...

Perhaps it would make sense to also have /proc/config which is
essentially a shortened echo of the autoconfig file...

I'm currently have problems with 1.3.8 turning on all the devices
I want (I don't want to start with the big long make config again...
is it more reasonable to hand-edit arch/i386/config.in and then run
Configure -d?)
