Currently, you use `bid_len` only to log it, and not for anything else. Should some sanity checks be added? Otherwise, I think, the variable can be removed?

Why can’t you simply use `unsigned int` [1]?
[Tim] you can refer to function qca_uart_setup , which also use u32
