Thanks a lot for picking up this suggestion [1] going all the way back
to v6! Turns out indeed that `3 << 4` (= GENMASK(5, 4)) is simply yet
another LPG subtype that we can cleanly query from the hardware :). I
wonder if we're ever going to run into hardware with multiple subtypes
for different channels...
