Hi Pedro,

Thank you for the patch.

Did you mean video2 here ? Not the exact device matters much as it
depends on the video devices present in the system, but being consistent
is best. But even better, I'd write

v4l2-ctl -z platform:vimc -d "RGB/YUV Capture" ...

to avoid depending on a particular device number. Same for the line
below. Similarly, the '-d /dev/media0' argument to media-ctl could be
replaced with '-d platform:vimc'.

I think you can simplify this as

for (i = 0; i < sd->entity.num_pads; i++) {
mf = v4l2_subdev_get_try_format(sd, sd_state, i);
*mf = sink_fmt_default;
}

r = v4l2_subdev_get_try_crop(sd, sd_state, VIMC_SCA_SINK);
*r = crop_rect_default;

By the way, sink_fmt_default should be renamed to fmt_default as it's
not about the sink pad only anymore.

crop_rect = vimc_sca_pad_crop(vsca, sd_state, sel->which);

and maybe the switch/case below could be removed, replaced with a

if (self->target != V4L2_SEL_TGT_CROP)
return -EINVAL;

at the beginning of the function, just keeping

/* Do the crop, but respect the current bounds */
vimc_sca_adjust_sink_crop(&sel->r, sink_fmt);
*crop_rect = sel->r;

below.

You could name those variables y and x respectively, it's widely used as
coordinates, and could keep lines shorter below.

This line doesn't depend on src_col, so you can move it outside of the
inner loop.

This can probably also be optimized by splitting the calculation behind
the VIMC_FRAME_INDEX macro into the part that doesn't depend on the
column, and moving that outside of the inner loop, but that's also a
candidate for a separate patch.
