Indeed, this is way better from what I did.

I wonder if we should use > CLOCK_EVT_MODE_SHUTDOWN
(or CLOCK_EVT_MODE_UNUSED || CLOCK_EVT_MODE_SHUTDOWN) instead of
!CLOCK_EVT_MODE_UNUSED.
