That seems way more complicated then need be. It also uses 2 bits in the
mask whereas the original code only used 1, e.g., bit 5. Is that correct ?

How about just open coding the macro thusly:

#define ADAU1373_BCLKDIV_SOURCE (1<<5) /*BIT(5)*/
