Die after BIOS Data Check Successful

linux-2.6.11-rc1-mm1
dual athlon, with smp enabled

After booting I get the message that "BIOS Data Check Successful" and then it
just sits there.

Has anyone seen this before? Or does anyone have an idea of how to find out
where it's heading south?

I have plenty of common sense, I just choose to ignore it.
