Ouch ! I have:

GNU assembler 2.14 20030612

and it works fine. Can you try:

$ as << EOF

	PG=0xC0000000
	VM=(128 << 20)

	.long (-PG -VM)
	.long (~PG + 1 - VM)
EOF

$ objdump -D a.out
