Re: 2.4.21-pre2 Oops in i810_audio.c

I've gathered some more information why my codec is misdetected, reading
the Reset register returns 1110011, so it's clearly the codecs fault. BTW,
AC'97 Component Specification revision 2.3 lists ID1 as reserved. What
seems strange to me is that ac97_codec reports
ac97_codec: AC97 Modem codec, id: CXT66 (Unknown)
and decides this by reading AC97_EXTENDED_MODEM_ID, but i810_audio says
i810_audio: codec 0 is an AC97 1.0 softmodem - skipping
based on reading AC97_RESET. Could it be that it is a combined codec and
it would be perfectly legal not to skip it, even though it includes a
softmodem ? I've attached the output of lspci -vv incase its useful.
