Kernel Bug Report

From: vinny.k (vinny.k@terra.com.br)
Date: Thu Apr 18 2002 - 19:53:47 EST

Thats Vinicius Kursancew, reporting something that could be a bug in
the kernel.

[1.] One line summary of the problem:
I did some stuff in userconf then i rebboted, thats when it came up.

[2.] Full description of the problem/report:
I just finished using a terminal and then i logged off.
I left the computer on, but i left home for about 2 hours.
When i came back it had some stuff written on the screen, with hex
numbers, but i didnt care, i just logged on.
I logged on as a normal user, su to root and ran:
$userconf
Changed some configuration, like the group(cahnged it to the same
group as root so i could see the kernel messages), to my normal user.
I applyed the changes and then i rebboted to se if everything wass
still allright.
During the reboot proccess, while it was shuttind down servers and
stuff, everything failed and i got debugging information on my screen.
I rebboted the system manually and the most of the initialization
process failed.
