Hello,
I tried to upgrade one of our SMP machines today to 2.4.19-pre3, but
the kernel doesn't even boot it hangs with these last messages:
--- Memory: 774232k/786432k available (922k kernel code, 11816k reserved, 243k data, 224k init, 0k highmem) Dentry-cache hash table entries: 131072 (order: 8, 1048576 bytes) Inode-cache hash table entries: 65536 (order: 7, 524288 bytes) Mount-cache hash table entries: 16384 (order: 5, 131072 bytes) Buffer-cache hash table entries: 65536 (order: 6, 262144 bytes) Page-cache hash table entries: 262144 (order: 8, 1048576 bytes) CPU: Before vendor init, caps: 0383fbff 00000000 00000000, vendor = 0 CPU: L1 I cache: 16K, L1 D cache: 16K CPU: L2 cache: 256K CPU: After vendor init, caps: 0383fbff 00000000 00000000 00000000 Intel machine check architecture supported. ---// The messages are actually from 2.4.19-pre2 because I couldn't copy the ones from pre3 // on a paper, but here is where the kernel hangs.
I attach my .config also
